There are relatively few homeowners who would say that snakes are welcome in their homes or even on their property. In most cases, snakes are more afraid of you than you are of them. Even so, a homeowner may find that snakes are a common nuisance on their property. If that’s the case for you, what can you do?
To make a long story short, your goal is to make your property as inhospitable to snakes as possible. Snakes hate being out in the open, so they tend to gravitate toward hiding places like rock walls, tall grass, leaf piles, or piles of junk. They like heating themselves on rocks. They live on smaller animals like chipmunks or mice. If you can remove hiding places, relaxation spots, and food sources for snakes from your property, you’ll be going a long way toward making your home as inhospitable a place for snakes as possible.
